The half-century epoch of the khan’s rule, popularly known as the “Golden age of Abylay”, is reflected not only in archival sources but also in historiography. According to the information Karty Kantarbaev who was a local historian of the last century – in the neighborhood of Kokshe – Burabay there were two areas related to the name of Abylay: “Ulken zhyane Kishi Alany” “The Big and the Small meadows”. A historical place near the mountain Okzhetpes in the forest of Burabay, on the shore of the lake, is called as “Abylay Khan Alany”, meaning “Abylay khan meadow”. Square is surrounded by beautiful, fabulous, mysterious mountains and rocks, with the highest point of Kokshetau mount – 947 m above the sea. The stele, on top of which the Golden eagle hovers under the shining sun, reminds the Kazakhstanis and guests from abroad about the symbols of the national flag of the Republic, the independence of our country, for which Abylay Khan fought. The octagonal base of the stele, which resembles a bunch of arrows, symbolizes the unity of the people. The circle covering the base of the arrows symbolizes the Motherland-Shanyrak. And uyk- the land that holds it – represents the multinational people of Kazakhstan. It was here almost a century ago, Saken Seifullin created his future masterpiece-the poem “Kokshetau” putting his Yurt at the foot of his beloved mountain and enjoying the wonderful nature. Singing the beauty of “Keobez Kokshe”, on the basis of collected folk legends, the classic of Kazakh poetry Seifullin S. created a historical poem, one of the main characters of which was Abylay Khan. In the neighborhood of Kokshetau such toponyms and hydronyms, as “Khanyn Kyzyl agashi”, “Khankol”, “Tore Kyzyl Agashi”, “Kymyzinay”, “Orazbulak”, “Atagyktyn auyly” (“Atagyk village”), “Kara kystak” (“Dark wintering”), “Zhumakay kystau” (“Zhumakay wintering”), “Tekekol”, “Zhainakkol” and others reached us and remained from the epoch of Abylay. On the area of 288 square meters there is abundant evidence of a huge milestone of rule, true patriotism and courage of one of the sons of the Kazakh people – Abylay Khan, who fought for freedom and independence and who united his nation. In 2009 “Horde of Abylai Khan” exposition complex was opened here. The complex consists of three main objects: the headstone of Abylay Khan, hall of history and kymyzhana. Also, the throne of Abylai Khan is very famous. It is made of white natural stone. Tourists consider the throne a Holy place, going around it seven times.
