Complex of objects associated with the name of Bogenbay Batyr
In Yereimentau and Yenbekshilder areas of Akmola region have a number of sacred objects associated with the name of the legendary Batyr Bogenbai.
In 1775, Kanzhygals Bogenbai batyr from the village of Ereymen resettlement to the summer pasture of the Seleta. During resettlement at the tributary of the Selety Kiikbay river at the age of 98 Bogenbai batyr dies. At this time, Khan Abylai leaves in Omsk. Before the arrival of Khan, the body of the batyr was embalmed and placed on a high platform (litter) of logs. The location of the bridge was preserved in the memory of the local population. «Bogenbaı sóresi» – “Begenbay platform” – is located 1.5 km from the village of Aksu, Enbeschildersky district. During his memorial visit in memory of his friend and comrade, Ablai satisfied the request of the people to include Bogenbay for the heroic feats of the batyr to the “saints” and burial of his body inside the skin mausoleum of Ahmet Yassaui in Turkestan.
Batyr’s body with all the honors, accompanied by an honorary escort of 40 people sent to Turkestan. This honorable mission was headed by his great-nephew and sons – Turanali, Turymbet, Argynbay and Zhylkibay.
In memory of the place of death of the famous warrior at the entrance to the Ereymentau district, a memorial sign was installed with the inscription: «Bul jerde 1775 jyly kazaqtyń kamal korgany bolgan batyr Bogenbaı qaıtys bolgan».
In memory of the outstanding deeds of Batyr, streets were named after him in the cities of the republic, monuments were built and, the Yereymentau Historical Museum of the Local History bears his name. The exploits of Batyr Bogenbai were reflected in literature and cinema. In 1991, in memory of the exploits of the batyr, «Úsh naıza» stele is installed on a hollow at the entrance to the city of Yereymentau. It is a metal structure sheathed with galvanized sheets. Its contour is clearly visible against the sky, creating a vertical accent in the steppe area. The centric composition of three parts with peaks directed upwards and shields suspended from them symbolizes the unification of three zhuzes under one ku-field. On the shields, combining the three peaks, there are inscriptions «Qorǵan bolǵan elime, aıbar bolgan jerime, qoıyldy bul eskertkish Bógenbaıdaı erime» from descendants of the XX century. In 2009, on the eve of the equestrian monument established in the name of outstanding commander and brave batyr Bogenbay in Yereymentau, at the suggestion of the akim district , a handful of earth was taken from the burial site in the Kozha Akhmet Yassaui mausoleum in Turkestan, which filled the capsule and placed it under the future a monument. Delivery of the land from the burial place of Bogenbai batyr was entrusted to his descendants.
The bronze monument to Bogenbai batyr was installed in 2007 at the intersection of Bogenbay Avenue and Sary-Arka in the capital, Astana.
The local history museum named after Bogenbay Batyr is located in the center of the town of Ereymentau, Ereymentau district, Akmola region. In 1999, the museum was given the name of the famous batyr.
